.krafts with kristin.

It was another great weekend.
Here were the highlights:
  • blind date
  • stake conference
  • the boy with nice hair at stake conference (I wanted to touch it… but did not)
  • cleaning my room and bathroom
  • learning some guitar chords
  • laughing REALLY hard with my friends on Sunday night (see here)
  • applying for EFY!!
  • being in sweats for quite some time on Sunday (even wore them to ward prayer)
  • mint M&Ms
  • thinking my straightener was broken and then finding out that it ISN’T!
  • being crafty with Jalene: (LOOK HOW CUTE!)

This crafty thing may become a weekly activity.  One day we may even start a television show called “Krafts with Kristin.”  Jalene came up with the name. :) But I think maybe we should call it… something else.  I don’t like when people spell things wrong on purpose.
Here were the lowlights:
Okay, so I can’t think of any.
Today was also excellent.  I was SO productive and got so much important stuff done.  And GUESS WHAT?!?!  Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, which means… bank holiday!  Hallelujah.  So tomorrow will be productive as well.
Here is one of the flower pics I took real quick today.

hi kristin! this is jamie (sorensen) remember me!? your blog is absolutely darling. well a while back katie posted some pics you took of her little family and also mentioned you were looking for some practice :) i was wondering if perhaps you would want to take a few snapshots of my husband and me sometime?? maybe if you’re ever in centerville the same time as us we could possibly work something out. no pressure, just thought it could be fun! let me know!

Jalene Bouwhuis - November 11, 2008 - 7:37 AM

LUJAH!!!! For Veteran’s Day!
Krafts with Kristin was the best! So much fun. I’m glad you are Kristin and I’m glad you are my friend.

Katie, Dustin, and Jack - November 11, 2008 - 3:11 PM

Haha, cute post. Also, you can call it Crafts with Kristin as long as you don’t spell it with a K. But good idea. :)

P.S. I saw Jamie’s comment; she will be in Centerville over Thanksgiving, just so you know.

~krista~ - November 11, 2008 - 7:56 PM

Very cute kristin! Congratulations on productivness…if only I could be so motivated…

Spaub - November 11, 2008 - 11:06 PM

Sounds like a fun weekend! Bank holidays are the best.

.neilson family photos.

A couple weeks ago I did a shoot for some friends of my sister. To be honest, I was a little nervous to do an extended family shoot, but it was so much fun and a great learning experience for me. So to the Neilsons: Thanks for letting me take pictures of you! I finally finished editing so here are some of my favorites and I hope you like them!
SUCH cute little girls!!

I LOVED taking pictures of Katie! She is so photogenic and her hair was gorgeous with the fall colors as a backdrop.

Katie, Dustin, and Jack - November 10, 2008 - 2:25 PM

Great job, I think they turned out perfect!

Liz, Karl and Madison - November 10, 2008 - 3:41 PM

Those turned out sooooo cute! I love the family picture of Karl, Madison and I where we are kissing and Madison is puckering up her lips. You did a really good job, thank you so much for taking our pictures. If you ever want more experience let us know :) we would gladly be your test dummies.

Jalene Bouwhuis - November 10, 2008 - 3:57 PM

Good job Kristin! I like the vinjetting (sp?) on the first one with the little girl with the bow in her hair.

Lacey - November 10, 2008 - 4:15 PM

Yay! Kristen I LOVE them! You are very talented. I know it’s crazy working with so many people, but you did awesome! Thanks so much for doing this for us — we really appreciate it! :)

JMoney - November 8, 2008 - 7:59 AM

Sweet! I hate blind dates. Never a good experience. So was he cute?

.confessions.

  • not one bit of the tub of cookie dough i bought has made it to the oven so far.
  • i’d rather wear sweatpants than almost anything else.
  • sometimes i stay up until 2:30 in the morning reading nie nie.
  • i check out my hair in almost every mirror or reflective surface i see.
  • sometimes i crack myself up.
  • shopping is theurapuetic and highly addictive to me.
  • i take off my shoes at work.
  • i use the handicapped stall in public bathrooms almost exclusively.

….feels good to get all that off my chest.

Chess - November 7, 2008 - 12:50 AM

Haha, the ESLC is impossible to pass without looking at yourself at least 3 times…. which could add up to nine times if you pass the building 3 times in one day…. ;)

Elizabeth Marie - November 7, 2008 - 3:55 AM

I love this post – very adorable. And very you!

Jalene Bouwhuis - November 7, 2008 - 4:06 AM

I USE THE HANDICAP STALL TOO!! For some reason I feel like it’s cleaner than the other ones (most of the time.)

m - November 7, 2008 - 5:59 AM

Back atcha
*cookie dough beats cookies anyday
*sweats are proof that God loves us and wants us to be comfortable
*when you’re old you will fondly remember the days you could stay awake until 2:30
*If I were as cute as you I would seek out reflective surfaces
*sometimes you crack me up
*shopping is also proof that God wants us to be happy
*I also take off my shoes whenever possible(even at work :) )
*I much prefer the handicapped stall because the door opens out so you don’t feel like you’re going to fall in the toilet when you open the door

Katie, Dustin, and Jack - November 7, 2008 - 10:32 PM

A lot of this must be genetic.

You make me laugh. Although, I pride myself in the fact that I think I already knew all that stuff about you. :)

JMoney - November 8, 2008 - 7:58 AM

You crack me up all the time! Oh, and what is nie nie?

kelli case - November 17, 2008 - 10:08 AM

how freaking crazy i share every.single.confession.

you are AWESOME.
yup i room with sara! she’s super bad a i love her.

.peachy.

I just turned down two very appealing hang-out invitations from friends. Because I’m responsible. I have a freaking Spanish test tomorrow to study for. Blehk…. Sometimes I HATE Spanish. Like at this very moment.

Jalene just made me a very delish peachy-raspberry smooooothie, which is now giving me an allergic reaction. It’s the peaches. They make my throat close up and make my lips sort of swollen. Nice.
I have SO much freakin’ stuff to do. I’d LOVE to get it all done one of these days. And guess what? I haven’t had a real meal since Sunday (pouts and sticks out swollen lower lip).
I had an institute class today that I’ve been very much looking forward to. It usually starts at 7:00, but for some reason, my little brain thought it was at 7:30. So I show up at 7:23 with class in full swing and look like a moron in front of the hundred-person sized class as I trudge through the back row to the only open seat in the corner. What is wrong with me?
I learned very cool things today in this other meeting I went to for institute with Brother Cherrington. Maybe I’ll write about it one of these days, if anyone is interested. I love the gospel.
Does anyone know if the Jazz won tonight? Yet AGAIN, I couldn’t watch the game. :(
Oh also, I can’t stop listening to Gives You Hell by the All-American Rejects. It’s so catchy.
Ummmm. I better stop writing now. Good night.
m - November 7, 2008 - 6:02 AM

Don’t say hell ;)

Jalene Bouwhuis - November 7, 2008 - 6:02 PM

I’m sorry I gave you an allergic reaction. :(

JMoney - November 8, 2008 - 7:54 AM

Hell is ok to say… Oh, and what church do you belong to? I’d like to know more about it…
